Even the guys can get in on the fun with learning about the latest fashion
trends for this Fall. Hey, the guys also deserve to look their best in
order to complement their female counterparts!.
The cardigan is one piece of clothing that seems to never go out of style
and is one that looks great on just about any man.
Choose lightweight materials that can be easily worn over a shirt, regular tee-shirt
and under a good sports jacket. Pick colors and designs that complement
your other clothes and be sure to keep at least 3-4 on hand to mix and
match.
On that same note, when it comes to shirts for the Fall trends,
stripes are all the rage. Striped shirts are ideal for jeans and
sneakers to evening dinners. Include a variety, both long sleeved and
short sleeved, as well as button-up and pullover styles.
Every man in the Fall season will want to have a sports jacket. Tweed is a
much more favorable material than corduroy but be sure you find the
right fit, style and design that suits your personal tastes. The great
thing about wearing a sports jacket in this day and age is that you can
use the same item for either a formal or informal event. Simply take a
sports jacket and pair it with a long sleeved tee-shirt and jeans for a
casual, yet chic look.
Jeans are a staple in anyone’s wardrobe and this Fall’s trends is no
exception. While you don’t need a whole lot of jeans to make a
statement, simply choosing a handful of materials, cuts and colors will
be more than enough to suffice for the season. Include black jeans,
dark denim and a lighter colored pair to round out your collection.
Similarly, you’ll want to make sure your closet has a good pair of
pinstriped pants. Like the sports jacket, pinstriped pants are great
for both formal and informal events. Navy and gray colors are ideal,
but you can also opt for browns as well. There are various styles and
cuts so make sure the one you choose fits your personal tastes and the
other clothes you’ll be mixing and matching them with.
While shoes tend to not be such a concern for most men, there is a need to
pay attention to what you’re putting your feet in this Fall. Unlike
women with their endless pairs, you won’t need as many but it’s
important what types you can choose from. Avoid bold and bright colors
and stick to a good pair of slip-on shoes that don’t have laces. This
type of shoe goes well no matter what you’re wearing and also having a
good pair of dress shoes can help with any formal affair you attend.
Causal walking shoes or sneakers are always ideal but don’t be afraid
to dress up a causal outfit with nicer kicks. Fall is not the time for
sandals so stash those for safekeeping.

Tips on taking care of your clothes
Wednesday, 27 August 2008
- Make sure you put your clothes on a hanger when you get undressed at night if they are going to be worn again. Put everything else into the hamper to be washed. Never just put your clothes into a ball, and drop them on the floor. Protect the fabric, and the items will last and always look nice.
- Prevent getting food stains on your shirts or blouses by bringing the spoon 'to' your mouth, and gently sip the contents, so as to prevent dripping. When eating a pasta or gravy dish, hold the napkin between your shirt or blouse and the food, again, move your mouth to the fork.
- Dab ice water or seltzer onto food stains immediately , so it does not set. Do not rub.
- Wash your clothes often. Use a gentle wash cycle for delicate clothes. Do not use liquid bleach in the wash. Separate colors from whites. Pure soap with a handful of bicarbonate (baking) soda is a much better, safer and more environmentally friendly bleach than White King. Chemical bleaches are extremely bad for your health, and don't properly wash out of your clothes.
- Try not to use a dryer at all. Dryers wear out your clothes and fade their colors more quickly than drying in sunlight. Drying in sunlight or in the open air is also a much healthier way of drying your clothes - sunlight is a natural disinfectant. And lastly, clothes-dryers use an enormous amount of electricity, contributing to the greenhouse effect and your electricity bill. Try drying your clothes on clothes-racks if the weather is not good, and ironing them when still slightly damp. Much better for your clothes and for the environment. If you absolutely have to use a dryer, use it on the warm setting and clear the lint filter after every load. If the temperature is too hot, your clothes will come out all wrinkled. If your dryer has a delicate cycle, use it. Make sure you do not leave the dryer on longer than necessary.
- Remove the clothes from the dryer and hang them up immediately. Button the top button on shirts, and hang blouses neatly on the hanger. Slacks should go on a special pants hanger, that clips over the top of the waist. Smooth the fabric with your hand, so as to avoid wrinkles. Iron out any wrinkles that might occur.
- Fold all other garments neatly and place in the dresser drawers.
- Hang your clothes in the closet, and make sure they are not all crowded or crushed together. They need breathing room or they will become all wrinkled and slip off the hangers and land on the floor.
Remember:
- First impressions are important. People judge you by your appearance. What is important, is not the cost of the clothes, but the way they look.
- Look at yourself in the mirror, before leaving the house. If you see anything looks wrinkled, give it a once over with the iron.
- Take care of your clothes, and they will save you money, by lasting longer.
